From the Palantir! TROLL HUNTER Lives Up to the Hype. Plus, a Plot Change to DEATHLY HALLOWS?

Posted on 19 January 2011 by Brent Hartinger, Editor

  • A plot change in the second Deathly Hallows film? And apparently, Rowling approves.
  • An amateur Lost movie that uses the show’s actual sets:
  • You know that viral sensation, The Troll Hunter (an upcoming movie from Norway)? Variety has seen the film and weighs in that it lives up to the hype and could really break out.
  • The blogosphere is all abuzz with the news that George Lucas reportedly believes the world will end in 2012. It’s second-hand, reported by a comedian, so, seedless to say, I’m skeptical.
  • Sanctuary has been renewed for a fourth season? (Is it really on a fourth season?)

  • A first look at the cast of X-Men: First Class, above.
  • The entire history of Spider-Man (the comic book) mapped out.
  • Virtually all the Buffy cast members have now spoken out against the proposed new Buffy reboot. But … Sarah Michelle Gellar, where are you?

I’m not up to date on all the Xmen…can you tell me who the characters in the picture are? Are they ones we’ve seen in the previous movies as adults?

I think SMG must be hoping to be cast in the Buffy reboot.

As terrible as a rebooted Buffy sounds, it still sounds better than SMG’s new TV series where she plays a woman on the run from the mob who impersonates her twin sister only to discover that her sister is also on the run from the mob! What a coincidence!

I was looking forward to X-Men: First Class (even though X-Men 3 and Wolverine were absolutely TERRIBLE), but that photo isn’t filling me with a lot of confidence. Couldn’t they have put Emma Frost in a corset instead of in a bra? Everything else is a mess as well, but the blue and yellow costumes do look mildly cool, even though I’m not sure about seeing Xavier and Magneto in uniform - it just looks wrong.

I agree that I don’t see the need for a reboot of Buffy, but I do find it ironic that Anthony Head would be speaking out against it considering he is on the 500th reboot of King Arthur.
