Very sad news: EW is reporting that Legend of the Seeker has been canceled:
Hey, fans of Legend of the Seeker: You know that 11th hour stay of execution you were hoping for? Well, you can stop hoping now — I’m hearing from multiple sources that the cult fave has been axed.
I’m trying to get confirmation from the studio now.
UPDATE: Still no word from the studio, but it sounds like folks involved with the show have confirmed the cancellation.

Syfy DID try to pick up, but Disney as usual is money hungry and wanted to much for it.
Its so weierd Im holding out hope cause if the official website called the last episode season finale and not series finale. As if to hint that its not the end. Even when the tv talks about it like for the promo of the last episodes it says Season Finale so lets all try to hold our breath. and wish that is not the end.

If a show were definitely canceled, the studio would announce it. It can’t hold information back like that. So something is going on, but I’m not sure what it is myself.
But at any rate, people who like LOTS need to be pro-active and get the Sy-Fy channel to buy the program and urge Disney-ABC to sell it to them. There are rumors…and I admit that they are rumors…that there are some problems about price. So all you can do is encourage both to keep the TV series alive.
I mean, really, what do you have to lose by trying? If you win, then you have saved LOTS. If the effort fails, you will have known that you did everything possible.
The Seeker fandom is not giving up. Lovely Kate, aka Halfabubble on LiveJournal, set up a Charity/Non-profit PayPal account and is collecting donations to purchase an ad on trade magazines like “Variety”, “The Hollywood Reporter”, etc. similar to the Jericho ad that was done a while ago.
The purpose of the ad is two-fold: to thank the cast, crew and all those who made Seeker possible, and to demonstrate to potential networks the depth of the fans loyalty.
Current donation total is USD $1,000 in less than 3 hours.

Brett, I really appreciate your information, but appreciate even more that you are checking further for solid “evidence” that the show is soon to be history. I have greatly enjoyed the show this season…. even Craig Horner’s acting has improved. We’ll surely miss them all.
Sadly, no response from the studio. But everyone involved in the show is talking like it’s a done deal. :-(
Once again I have to boycott some companies like I already did to USA for Dead Zone and Fox for Sarah Connor. Neither of those networks have been allowed to play in my home since the cancellations and with T:TSCC I also boycotted WB studios.
Now I have to boycott WGN and anything else Tribune does and I’ll probably quit watching SyFy since they refused to pick up the show.
My viewing choices are getting thinner, but if they cancl all the good shows and run nothing but crap anyway it’s not really a loss to me.

There are great many people who would like to see the Legend of the Seeker continue. The lack of publicity and poor programming on various television stations have hurt it. It needs a higher budget as well.
Contact Sci Fi urging them to pick it up. Ask Disney-ABC to sell it to them. This may be the troubling issue…sales price.
It’s a shot…so do it. Better to have tried and lost, then not to have tired at all.
Lets see if we can make a difference.

This is terrible. It was an amazing show.
What really killed it was the way it was run in syndication. Most channels had it play at 11:30 at night with no advertising whatsoever, with no regard to the shows many viewers who loved it.
Kinda dumb how networks axe the best shows… I’m shocked the Fox network wasn’t to blame… i.e. Firefly.
i throught that the ufficial anouncement for the renew or not renewal of the show was half or late may. How coult they now officialy that the show was been cancelled.

They are not only among the most beautiful women on the planet, especially Tabrett, but they are both wonderful actresses. I’m sure they would be great additions to that cast too.
I hope Tab will find something new soon. :(

Major bummer if LOTS is cancelled. Far too soon IMHO. At the very least I hope we see Craig Horner, Bridget Regan and Tabrett Bethell (sp?) join Craig Parker on Spartacus: Blood and Sand. After all, surely not every single male slave in the rebellion can be a hulking mass of muscle and the show clearly doesn’t believe there is such a thing as too many hot slave girls. Both Bridget Regan and Tabrett Bethell (sp?) would make great gladiatrix.
if that really does happen they must be the dumbest people ever. legend of the seeker has to be the best show in a really long time. the show is great and the actors are fantastic and believable with richard and kahlan. i will stop watching tv all together if there is no more legend of the seeker

I will be so, so upset if this is true. LOTS has been the best thing on television for the last 2 years.
I haven’t enjoyed a genre show this much since Sliders or Brimstone (both RIP). I should’ve known my interest in it was the kiss of death. Bummer.
If SYFY were smart, thy’d pick Seeker up. Of course, SYFY also managed to screw the pooch on the aforementioned Sliders, as well as tons of other franchise properties(i.e. The Invisible Man, Farscape, B5 Spin-off, G vs E)
Come on. We all knew it wasn’t going to last from the beginning of the first season: the uninspired writing, waffly action sequences (there were times when they were good though…) and ever increasing lack of believability which increased with each jaunt through the underworld.
We’ve all seen this day coming even though we didn’t want it.

EW usually has good sources, but Ausiello does say he “heard”, not necessarily that he KNOWS. I will be so sad if it’s confirmed. It’s not a perfect show, but it’s one of the few fantasy shows we have on TV.
