Variety is reporting that HBO’s hit vampire drama, True Blood, will return for its third season, 12 episodes in all, on June 13th.
The series, based on the series of novels by Charlaine Harris, has proved to be a massive hit for HBO, drawing an average of over 12 million viewers per episode when video on demand, repeat telecast, and DVR numbers are all factored in. Only The Sopranos has drawn higher ratings for the premium cable channel.
Additions to the cast this season include werewolf Joe Manganiello (Spiderman 3’s Flash Thompson), Brit Morgan (The Middleman), and Kevin Alejandro (Southland) as a hospital orderly taking care of Ruby Jean Reynolds and who becomes involved with her son, Lafayette.
