News of the death of Legend of the Seeker was premature.
A source close to the show tells TheTorchOnline.com that, contrary to the implication of some previous media reports, the show is definitely not canceled, the studio is interested in bringing it back for a third season, and that they’re actively exploring options to make that happen.
Legend of the Seeker is produced by ABC Studios, but is syndicated, offered to different media markets on a station-by-station basis. Last week, the Tribune Company, which owns 35% of the affiliates that currently air the show in the U.S., confirmed that their stations would not air a third season of the show.
Since Tribune makes up such a large percentage of the total number of affiliates that air Legend of the Seeker, including some major markets, this prompted a flurry of online speculation that the show itself would likely be canceled.
The public announcement by Tribune came in response to a fan-generated letter-writing campaign seeking to improve the show’s third season prospects. The company answered several of those letters with the news that their affiliates would not be carrying the show next year; several sources have since confirmed that news.
But TheTorchOnline.com’s source indicated that it is still too early in the year for the studio itself to have made a decision on the show and emphasized that they have definitely not given up and will seek to replace the Tribune affiliates.
Because renewal of a syndicated show involves signing up many different affiliates, last year’s “official” renewal announcement of Legend of the Seeker did not happen until well into spring.
The show’s ratings have been relatively strong this season, making a pick-up by competing Tribune stations a definite possibility.
The source also indicated that the producers of the show appreciate the passion and commitment of the fans.

i know there are alot of people who have been begging for LOTS to continue so i will save my breath. all i have to say is that this show is something that makes me happy and hopeful! of course Jesus comes before all ha,ha. but i would truly be upset if Legend Of The Seeker was gone for good. life is short and we dont always get to tell people how much certian things mean to us . that was a some what exact quote from Kahlan Amnel the mother confessor.

I never got into Xenia or the other shows until Legend Legend of The Seeker came on, and I watched the first full season on line. I love the show. It’s sounds very hopeful that it will return. I’m praying that the show will find a new home and that it will be on a channel that I have.
Man I hope Lrgend of the Seeker isn’t cancelled, it’s one of best shows still around. The show is so well acted, written and it’s visually beautiful! Keep LOTS on the air!!!!
This is the best news I’ve heard in a while! I am sooo glad that they’re exploring other options and that this show IS NOT DEAD yet! I love it and I love the entire cast!! They have amazing chemistry! I hope us fans change their minds and someone picks up LOTS! It’s too amazing to lose! =]

There simply *has to be* another season of LotS. It is the only such shown on TV, globally, and with good quality. It also has incredibly awesome fandom.

Please we must see another series of Legend of the Seeker is to good and amazing just to let go, many fans will be heart broken not seeing the Mother Confessor, the Seeker, the Wizard and the Mord Sith fighting along side each others protecting the innocent from the evil.
Its like Patricia Danes said above me ( ^ ) its not fair, they can not take the Legend of the Seeker away from us now so far into the story, there is still so much more that the can do with the TV series, I have read the books and found they amazing, but so much needs to be done, please there need to be one or two more seasons at least if not there will be alot of very upset fans… :)
I am loving this series sooo much! My husband and I have started watching it on instant play on Net Flix and we are even reading the books AGAIN! I would absolutely LOVE to see this go for at least one more season! Please! They are doing such a wonderful job with everything and am so pleased! For them to take it away from us now is SO not fair! Please renew this show for at least one more season!
Season 3 is a must. I love this show so much! It is only growing, too. Better promotion, better time slot, and the audience will double or triple in the first few episodes. It’s absolutely addictive. If it doesn’t return, then it will be a real shame. Any show that generates this kind of response should obviously be renewed.

Post messages on your profile pages and anywhere else to get the word out. The tv stations respond to big ratings. Tell everyone to keep watching it on tv every week. Ratings will Save Our Seeker!

Hey there! I have a few questions -
a) if tribune is in the pits, why not shop Seeker to the other owners of O&Os? If I’m not mistaken News Corp bought many (or all??) of Chris-Craft’s TV stations. Tribune only covers so much, and I believe they’re lacking one or two major markets. (either NY or LA). Likewise, why not sell the show to any independent/CC/other station that’s not Tribune?
b) something I’ve been wondering about…are first-run syndicated shows like Seeker, Xena and Hercules “deficit financed” like the shows studios sell to networks? Usually they sell them to networks for a license fee that’s lower than production costs and only make money once the show is in syndication (mid 3rd or fourth season.) But since it’s in syndie, ABC studios must’ve avoided the lower license fee to the network, no? Since they only deal with local stations? Ugh, tv. They must also make money directly from overseas syndication.
c) this is probably the first ‘campaign’ i’ve been optimistic about…perhaps since emails to sponsors, channels and local markets matter when a show is not in a broadcast network’s lineup.
I’m happy to see ABC not giving up due to the idiotic decision of the Tribune stations… Hopefully ABC will be able to find other stations to have the show on or that Tribune will come to it’s senses and pick LotS back up.
I really hope this gets renewd for S3!!! love the books love the show, i got my whole family into the show and they absolutely love it!!! man if merlin can get picked up why cant legend of the seeker which is 10 times better than merlin!

legend of the seeker is superb with Bridget Regan as the confessor is superb they could not have chosen a better actress than her.the love connection in the show is a great thing to learn from the show also has great morals,true love,true friendship,family values,adventure,magic & so much more like how Richard & Kahlan care more about other people than their own selves.I have not found a better show than legend of the seeker on TV today Smallville was supposed to be canceled a few times but fans helped the show continue so there is still hope a 3 season of legend of the seeker season 3.I hope in a season 3 or even a season 4 or 5 that they find a way for Kahlan & Richard to be together so they can have children without Kahlan’s powers hurting Richard.there is still hope for legend of the seeker if all we the fans keep writing to the stations & tell them what a great superb job they did with legend of the seeker so they pick up legend of the seeker to continue to a 3rd season.
Several of the shows that I watch were on the bubble for next season. Fringe and Smallville were picked up within the last few days and rather than being psyched, as I should’ve been, my response was “meh”. It truly is because of this Seeker suspense. I reaaaaallllly want this show to make it.
