From the Palantir! (A Fantasy News Round-Up)

Posted on 12 August 2009 by Brent Hartinger, Editor

  • A “live” Rocky Horror Picture Show will be part of Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights, starting October 6th. Wow, times do change.
  • The Hugo Awards have been announced (including awards for Neil Gaiman, Nancy Kress, Elizabeth Bear, Joss Whedon, and WALL-E).
  • The trailer for Terry Gilliam’s The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus (Heath Ledger’s last film) is out, and it looks absolutely amazing. The movie will be released December 25th in the U.S. :
  • And article that pretends to be an update on the sequel to Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal, but that really has nothing new to report (”it has a really strong script”).
  • It looks like Greg Grunberg (from the pilot, and also J.J. Abrams’ Alias) is returning to Lost.
  • Is Colin Farrell taking over for Johnny Depp in The Man Who Killed Don Quixote?
  • At first, I thought the idea of a Lord of the Rings wedding was stupid, but the more I think about it, the more I think it’s kinda cool.

  1. Paige Bruce says:

If you google “Star Wars Weddings”, I swear it’ll perk up any workday afternoon, no matter how boring. Very lol.

Although, saw an AT-AT cake which was pretty cool. :P

  2. James H. says:

I just read Elizabeth Bear’s “Shoggoth’s in Bloom.” Loved it.

  3. I try to never be a hater, but Greg Grunberg, man….he must have saved J.J. Abram’s life at one point, and as payment Abrams puts him in all of his shows. Why, why, why is he coming back to Lost?
