Half-Blood Princeis the first PG (and not PG-13) Harry Potter movie since 2004’s Azkaban.
Speaking of Half-Blood Prince, most reviews are embargoed, but the buzz is good. Now that the Oscars will include ten “Best Picture” nominees, could it be a Best Picture nominee?
Speaking of the Oscars, EW thinks Lorna Raver should be up for Best Supporting Actress for playing the terrifying gypsy woman in Drag Me to Hell (and I totally agree!).
The use of miniatures in D&D has changed over the years (and in some ways, hasn’t changed at all). One myth debunked: D&D did not start out as a “miniature” game; the first rules make almost no mention of them.
How does Buffy see the relationship between Spike and Angel? In the latest comic (above), she sees it like, um, a lot of slash fiction writers.
Another one of those non-article articles from Sci-Fi wire, where the headline asks, “What can Warbreaker [Brandon Sanderson's new novel] tell us about The Wheel of Time [which he is finishing now that Robert Jordan is dead]?” The article’s answer? Nothing. Seriously. How do that site’s readers not totally rebel at deceptive headlines like that?
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader will be shot digitally (and not on 35 mm film as the previous Narnia movies). Some argue the quality is not as good, though the cost is much less. (This year, Slumdog Millionaire became the first movie to be shot digitally to also win the Oscar for Best Cinematography.)
Oh, Lord, the Smurfs are getting a movie after all. Someone stop the madness!
In my book, you can never have too much Captain Nemo. And Will Smith as Nemo? Better and better!
They’re also making a Baywatch movie. (How is this “fantasy,” you ask? Really? You don’t see it?)
Harold Ramis gives a video interview where he talks about the possibility of Ghostbusters 3. He’s quite interesting, talking about the difference in special effects then and now, and is also refreshingly blunt, saying upfront that the last Indiana Jones movie was a “disaster” (he’s right, but Year One, his last movie, was even worse).
Filming has begun on an adaptation of Terry Pratchett’s Going Postal (for British TV).
I read that Warbreaker article - the writer even admitted that he knew nothing about WOT. So why was he assigned to write the article then? At the very least, find a WOT fan to help you out. Geez. On that note, having read the book, it’s awesome. Also, the #tweettheauthor chat on Twitter today with Brandon Sanderson was a lot of fun too.
There may be a nomination, but I think HPDH II will more likely get it and perhaps the win. Now, don’t get me started on the embargo, one of the things about HP that annoys me to no end.

Isn’t that a STRANGE article?
And thanks for the mini-review!
Yes, it is. I’m surprised Scifiwire still does book reviews. Given this article/ reviews, maybe they should.

I’m dubious. Cutting the book into two movies is risky.
